e3 to launch “eCell@Sea powered by MCP” at the Monaco Yacht Show
e3 Systems (e3s) and Maritime Communications Partners AS (MCP) are delighted to announce the launch of their new system called “eCell@Sea powered by MCP” that allows anyone on board a yacht to make and receive calls using their own cell phones, send and receive text messages and use GPRS data when over the horizon.
It is the only system specifically designed for private yachts. It is unique and provides all the features required to make sure that important phone calls and messages are never missed. Owners, family and guests come on board with their own cell phone and continue to use it wherever the yacht has VSAT coverage. This is a great unique selling point for charters – “use your own phone onboard!”
eCell@Sea powered by MCP uses the VSAT to provide the link to land via satellite for the calls and Altobridge equipment to turn the yacht into a GSM cell which is powered by the MCP service. MCP is the preferred provider of GSM solutions on cruise ships and ferries, with an unparalleled footprint throughout the international waters. Altobridge is a leading provider of telecommunications solutions, both have many years experience. e3 has pioneered these systems for yachts over the last five years and using their experience have brought together and specified all the components required for the ultimate system to suit the large private yacht.
- It supports roaming with almost every cellular service worldwide so almost all guests can use it.
- Extremely flexible and affordable plans to match any VSAT plan.
- It works with any VSAT service so is almost global.
- Multiple voice, SMS and GPRS data services are provided.
- Connection charges are billed to the home service provider so no complex end of charter guest billing.
- Crew SIM cards are available for use with the system at local on-board rates.
- Complete control of who can use it and where.
- The system can be used throughout the whole yacht.
- Every component is available from and supported by e3 or e3 Partners worldwide.
It’s as simple as that!
Please come and see both MCP and e3 on the e3 booth, QS89, in the Darse Sud tent at the Monaco Show from 22nd to 25th September.
