Post Monaco Yacht Show Blues

5th October, 2010.  It's taken a whole week to get our feet back on the ground since the Monaco Show finished on 25th September.  The Show is clearly the best super yacht show on the circuit, it is always packed from start to finish with business being transacted and nets being worked right into the early hours of each morning.

Our Marine Broadband Apps Store booth was a great success and it attracted very favourable comments from a number of observers.  We had a great number of visitors including old friends and clients plus a large number, of hopefully, new clients.

Nearly 30 of the yachts at the Show were already our clients so we had a lot to discuss and were able to show them all our new product launches and especially our new eCell@Sea powered by MCP service.  This service turns the yacht into a GSM cell, such that you can use your cell phone anywhere in the world. We had a lot of interest in this, especially from management companies thinking of how to attract more clients for their charter yachts.

Broadband data management was a hot topic and our eDSC Data Service Controller that controls and monitors data use on board was of great interest, especially to those yachts and companies that have experienced a bad case of "bill shock"!

Our main eVSAT Partner MTN were at the show in force based from our booth, including the CEO and also their Managing Director for Yachting.

We also had our eCell@Sea partner MCP with us including their VP for Sales & Marketing.

Our new collaborators Guardian 24/7 Presidential Ready Rooms, were very busy during the Show. We were very happy that their CEO also took his time out to be with us.

In the bridge and navigation department we were very pleased to have Steve Monk the MD of Da Gama with us providing his navigation and all things to do with the bridge expertise.

We had a brief visit from Stratos with some interesting new Inmarsat rates to offer which we will tell you about later.

Finally and by no means least, we had to suffer the Jetstream and Bond girls on our booth for some hours each day. They showed us how easy it was to pick complete strangers off the corridor, give them a demo and get their business card and phone number in about 5 minutes flat!

So what a great show again and thanks to you for visiting our booth and to all our high powered partners that joined with us to show that at
