Long established as the Newspaper service of choice among Inmarsat users, Satnews from Headland Media delivers the news in a compressed format to make the transmission packets as small as possible thus saving money on transmission costs. Users of Inmarsat Fleet or Fleet Broadband ISDN lines can even download at the same time as uploading the vessel email to minimise the cost of transmission.
There are around 50 titles to choose from in either masthead format from leading high street publishers or the specially compiled regional digests which are designed to appeal to the main crew nationalities on cruise ships and commercial vessels. The news digests can be downloaded automatically and printed on a standard A4 printer. The service is also available in a PC reader format. The copy can even be branded with the ship’s name or company logo.
