e3 introduced MTN into the Super Yacht market in 2004 and gave them their first twenty vessels before most people had even heard of them. From this base they were able to grow to over 200 Super Yachts today with over 30% of their worldwide business provided by e3 Systems.
In addition, it was announced by MTN in 2011 that e3 has been awarded Platinum status, o
ne of a few companies meeting their stringent requirements in terms of training of installation and service personnel. Currently e3 have 10 MTN Certified Technicians on their team which is twice the number required for the MTN Platinum status. This illustrated e3's commitment to client service.
MTN offers Ku Band and C Band services via e3 Systems. MTN's service is highly valued by vessels with high performance requirements worldwide. In particular the following features stand out:
- Multiple satellite beam availability and ABS (Automated Beam Switching to avoid mast blockage).
- Unlimited Data (No Fair Use limits).
- Seasonal Upgrades (For charter or specific applications such as IPTV).
- 24/7/365 Network Operations Centre (NOC - English Speaking).
- Dedicated bandwidth up to 10Mbps downlink/1Mbps uplink.
- Quality of Service (QoS - to ensure prioritization of key applications such as IPTV, VPN, etc)....

- MTS automated antenna switch (to avoid mast block).
- Stream Xcel - web accelerator and streaming device.
- 4 x VOIP lines on low cost tariff.
MTN has been perceived as expensive. But no other operator comes close to the level of infrastructure provided by the MTN service. And in yachting, as in anywhere else in life, you get what you pay for!
