Spectacular climbs, breathtaking scenery and some of the best driving roads in Europe; Rally Clasico Isla Mallorca is eagerly awaited by participants and spectators alike. Running from 7-9 March, this year marks the fifteenth edition of this thrilling event and once again, drivers from throughout Europe will be racing around the island vying to win Mallorca’s most prestigious motorsport event.

e3 Systems are delighted to be sponsoring a car in this challenging Balearic Rally Championship qualifying event, over a mixture of super-fast wide sweeps and twisty mountain hairpins. Our e3-branded laser-blue supercharged Lotus Elise SC – Car S1 – will take part in the ‘Zero Class’ and will be driven by Gordon Cox with our very own Hamish Goddard as co-driver. The car will be in very capable hands, as Gordon knows his way around the island, this being his third time behind the wheel in the Mallorca Rally Clasico. In his spare time, he’s also building his own full race-spec Lotus Elan!

With a lifelong passion for motorsport, Hamish has driven formula performance and classic cars at some of the UK’s best-known tracks including Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Goodwood. He also knows the roads well, although as navigator, he says that reading pace notes in a car driving at its limit over some of the most challenging roads on the island is not for the faint-hearted.

It promises to be a supercharged weekend and e3 are looking to impress too, by showcasing some of our very latest technology to competitors and guests. Throughout the race, we will be providing free Wi-Fi to the participating teams, connecting via both KYMETA panels and our BIG DATA SIMs beaming live from our e3 mobile communications vehicle parked in Puerto Portals. We also look forward to inviting customers and close friends to enjoy a glass or two at a VIP gathering.

The prize-giving party will be at Baiben’s in Portals Nous, where we hope to be toasting Gordon and Hamish’s colourful and fast contribution to this prestigious event. We wish them and all the teams, a safe race and the very best of luck.
