Following the devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian across the islands, the 47m/155FT Christensen motor yacht Loon is sailing to the northern Bahamas with disaster relief specialists and aid on-board – supported with increased bandwidth provided by e3 and Speedcast.

The yacht, skippered by Captain Paul Clarke, will transmit images and video from the affected areas as part of the disaster response. This data is vital for the Bahamas NEMA (National Emergency Management Agency) to support them in response decision-making.

The voyage has been arranged by Yacht Aid Global (YAG) and to enable this increased connectivity, e3 have coordinated with their service provider Speedcast, to provide the emergency bandwidth at no cost.

e3 provides mobile connectivity to MY Loon using two satellite solutions, one that uses a conventional antenna and a second using a flat panel antenna.
