With more than one hundred thousand visitors, an unforgettable display of superyachts and beautiful blue skies, the 58th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show more than delivered on its promise. It was an awe-inspiring week and the perfect event for e3 to showcase the impressive Kymeta™ flat panel antennas.

With interest in the technology already flying high, it received a big boost early in the week as e3 and Kymeta took home the prestigious International Superyacht Society Award for Excellence in Innovation 2017. Announced at the ISS Gala Dinner, the award was presented by Ole-Kristian Sivertsen, Senior Vice President of Global Eagle (MTN, PRIVA, EMC) to Roger Horner, Managing Director at e3 and Håkan Olsson, Vice President of Maritime at Kymeta.

Following on from the success of our Monaco tours, we were presenting the flat panel technology on board the stunning 154’ Usher and then demonstrating it working on the move on the 54′ Shredder between Pier 66 and the Show. Both yachts, the passenger vessel Julia and all the crew pulled out all the stops for us at FLIBS – we would like to say a very big thank you to the owner and all involved from Fleet Miami for helping make the week such a success.

We were delighted that around 80 VIPs from across the superyacht sector joined us on our tours with many more attending our VIP lunch and Cocktail Party on Usher. There was keen interest from across the world and from all types of vessel including cruise and commercial ships.

FLIBS is without doubt one of the world’s go-to shows and this year was noticeably busier than ever with many of those we spoke to reporting great business. It was a truly rewarding week for our US team who confirmed orders for flat panels and saw increased interest and sales across our full portfolio of services.

Mid-November sees e3 heading to Amsterdam with a high profile presence at both METS and the Super Yacht Forum – where we’ll be presenting a keynote session and daily workshops.

The final flourish to a busy year will be at the Antigua Charter Show in early December.
